Azerbaijani athletes and OCEP schools celebrated “Victory Days” within the framework of Baku 2019!
On 29th of July 2019 “Victory Days” event dedicated to winner athletes of the Baku 2019 European Youth Olympic Games and winner schools of OCEP 2019 was held at the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. “Victory Days” is an annual event initiated by NOC Azerbaijan that brings together medalists, members of their families and friends, as well as representatives of sports community and mass media. Traditionally, the winning athletes are awarded with special gifts from National Olympic Committee, attend live performances and communicate with their fans. Minister of Youth and Sports, Azad Rahimov; Minister of Education, Jeyhun Bayramov; Vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee, Chingiz Huseynzade and Khazar Isayev; Secretary General of NOC Azerbaijan, Agajan Abiyev; Deputy Secretary General of NOC Azerbaijan, Azer Aliyev; Olympic Champions Namig Aliyev, Zemfira Meftahaddinova, President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation and many others were among the guests of the event. This time in addition to the Olympic Team, Experts Group of the Olympic Culture and Education Program, OCEP schools in nominations “Active schools” and “The most active schools” and volunteers were awarded as well. In appreciation of the experts’ activity, they are awarded with special gifts and certificates by the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Sports. School No 32 named after Mazahir Rustamov, representing Serbia, school No 7 named after Mammad Rahim representing Switzerland and school No 189-190 representing Sweden have been awarded in the category of “Active schools” and have been rewarded with a special trip to the Olympic Culture and Sport Camp organized within one of the beautiful regions of Azerbaijan. School No 23 named after Tahir Hasanov representing Ukraine, school No 20 named after Arif Huseynzade representing Spain and school No 193 named after Mehemmed Huseyin Shahriyar representing Azerbaijan have been awarded in the category of “The most active schools” and have been rewarded with a special trip to the Greece, the motherland of ancient Olympic Games and Olympism. Finally, the volunteers, who actively supported the Azerbaijan Olympic Team and OCEP schools during the Festival at the Athletes village were awarded with special certificates. The event included musical performances by famous singers and was finalised with a group photo.
